Fun Smokies Fact: The Llama Pack Train

Each week, a llama pack train carries supplies up to LeConte Lodge on Mount LeConte.

They travel the Trillium Gap Trail, which is the same route used to reach Grotto Falls. Since the trail passes right by the waterfall, you might even spot the llamas near the falls during a supply run. If you do see them, step to the side, give them plenty of space, and follow the handler’s directions.
