Celebrating the Fourth of July
One of my favorite parts of the Fourth of July is gathering with our family. The kids are always laughing, playing, and making memories that we’ll treasure long after the fireworks have faded.

As we celebrate with backyard cookouts, parades, and fireworks, I’m always reminded to be thankful for the freedom we enjoy and the time we get to spend with the people we love. Those simple moments together are what make Independence Day one of my favorite holidays of the year.

Firecracker Fizz
Ingredients
Equipment
Method
- Fill four clear cups or mason jars about halfway with ice.
- Pour ½ cup cranberry juice into each cup.
- Slowly add ½ cup lemon-lime soda to each cup.
- To create the blue layer, slowly pour ½ cup blue sports drink or blue raspberry lemonade over the back of a long spoon. Pour gently to help keep the layers separate.
- Top with whipped cream, if desired, then garnish with a fresh strawberry, a festive paper straw, and a mini American flag.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your patriotic creation! 🇺🇸
Notes
- We love using pellet ice (you may know it as Sonic® ice). It keeps these festive drinks extra cold and makes every sip even more refreshing.
- For the best red, white, and blue layers, chill all of your ingredients before assembling the drinks.
- Pour the final blue layer slowly over the back of a spoon to help keep the colors separated.
- Want to make it extra festive? Add a patriotic paper straw and a mini American flag just before serving.
